Cindy opened her first retail business in Columbus, Texas almost 20 years ago. Homemakers was a great success in a small town. She decided to take on the city by opening Love.

Love. takes from elements of her former shop; a general store for everyone, for the home, for yourself, for all occasions. But Love. is fresh with new ideas, current and vintage merchandise, multiple textures of styles and reasonable prices. Having spent her early childhood in various parts of Central America and Mexico, Cindy has an eye for the Old World and combines it with modern character. Partner, Ginger Leigh offers a perspective for the 30-something crowd. Cindy also gets a lot of help from her three daughters who lend their creative eye and fashion sense to to buying process for the store.

Ginger Leigh has lived in Austin for 14 years having studied at the University of Texas. Professional musician and touring artist, Ginger has spent a lot of time with people. She brings to Love. an appreciation for human differences and uniqueness. While Cindy has the eye for the goods, Ginger has the energy to keep up with the current trends and social activities in Austin.

The Mommy and the Rock Star began the journey at 1000 South First in May 2003.  By August, the duo had already hosted a series of outdoor concerts (affectionately known as “Love on the Lawn”), during which people listen to live music and shop inside.

In February of 2009, Cindy made the painful decision to close the physical location of Love.  Since that decision, countless friends and customers expressed their own heartbreak.  So, with the same audacity the pair have taken their show on the road setting up house concerts and shopping parties at private residences.

2010 has been a year of continued Love.   The synergy between artists, muses and Lovers is what Love. Austin, Texas is all about.
